Break out the confetti and join the parade… July 22 is National Mango Day. It’s been an incredible season this year. The excitement and momentum have been building across South Florida, with celebrations for the “King of Fruits” dropping all season long. Mangoes are a unifying force that have a magnetizing power to bring people of all color, class, and creed together in shared appreciation and delight. Fibrous or smooth, oblong or oval, mangoes are the foodie’s ultimate comfort food. In honor of National Mango Day, below are 5 Mango-Licious Life Lessons we can glean from a mango:
1. The Mango reigns as ” King of Fruits” boasting a diverse collection of over 1000 varieties across the world. Although believed to be part of the poison ivy family, mangoes are one of creation’s most complex, yet delectable fruits. Life is always filled with an element of risk and adventure. Embrace it.

2. Mangoes come in a diversity of colors, aromatic scents, beautiful shapes, flavors and textures to satisfy many picky palates. Likewise, we can find beauty, joy and value in celebrating our diversity.

3. Each mango season provides symbolic reminders that nature, and the things we cherish, experience birth, growth, disruption, uncertainty, and change.

4. All-natural systems have a cycle with a beginning and a definite end. Seasons of adversity won’t last forever. We can both hope and expect that better days are ahead.

5. There are stages of growth from planting to harvesting. In every season of our lives, God has His timing and purpose for everything under the sun. Trust the process. God has a plan for each of us.
