Why create this blog?
My path through life over the past 10 years has felt more like dead ends than through streets. I've encountered a series of adversities that would cripple most people. However, these unexpected tragedies ironically have taught me how to fly on the wings of hope and prayer when the way ahead seemed daunting and uncertain. This blog called Tanya the Mango Lady is my wall of reflection. A place for recharge, inspiration, insight and impact. I pray for healing upon all who pass by and trust you will gain strength to overcome your own adversities. The name is inspired by the mango, my favorite fruit. In so many cultures the mango epitomizes all that is sweet, satisfying and savory. I hope that my blog will be all that and more for you as we journey from bitter to sweet, or from shallow to deep. The mango-licious life is one of resilience.
I owe a couple people credit for the inspirational nudge that lead to the creation of this blog. Atty Lynn W and my friend Bankim K, aka Comrade. Both at seperate times lit a fire that urged me to tell my story and not hide the blessings or battle scars. I grew to appreciate that my scars didnt need to be a reminder of pain but as another friend put it, they are "victory trophies," my seal of authenticity. Despite adversity and trials; I have overcome, grown and continue to press on by Gods grace and through His strength. I pray my stories inspire you to press on in hope and freedom as well.
